About the event

Navigating the transition to adulthood can be a challenge for anyone, but for young adults with ADHD and other neurodiversities, it comes with unique hurdles.

Parents and Teens are invited to join ADHDKC for an insightful talk by Benjamin Lyons, LCSW, from Purple Wellness, as he explores how to prepare neurodivergent teens for life after high school. His talk will be geared toward parents as their role changes from supporting a child to supporting a young adult.

This session will cover:

  • The key differences in seeking accommodations and support in K-12, college, and workplace settings.

  • Common pitfalls young adults with ADHD encounter when transitioning to greater independence.

  • Practical strategies for fostering success during this pivotal time.
